The ability to live and take care of yourself on your own takes huge responsibility, which Lennie does not have without George. Lennie has a fair amount of trouble remembering important things. In fact it’s even hard for him to keep track and remember his own thoughts. George had to keep Lennie’s work card for him so he didn’t lose it. This proves that he is unable to keep track of his own things and can’t be responsible for himself. George also told Lennie that if he got into any trouble he had to go back to the river bank and hide to wait for George. This shows that Lennie can’t make his own decisions and needs a caretaker to tell him what to do in the worst case scenario. Lennie is not the sharpest tool in the shed and he depends on George in every aspect of his life.
I see two sides to to Carlson; the practical, down to earth person and the up front, in your face, I'm always right kind of person. Personally I don't like Carlson. I wouldn't get along with him very well. When he talks about how they should shoot Candy's dog because he has no use, that is very rude and unnecessary for him to say. He does say to give Candy one of the new born pups as a replacement, but really that is non of Carlson's business and he has no need to say that. Mind you, he is his own person and that's how he acts. I wouldn't want to be friends with him though!
Can everybody actually walk with everybody else? Yes and no. If you have the drive and want to be able to live the life like others do then you can! Keep in mind that you have to sacrifice things to ‘walk with everybody else’. In the music video for the song “Hero” the man was working multiple jobs just to take care of his daughter and to be a good father but to also live his dream of riding bulls. This is not a perfect world, people have the ability to live a life like everybody else but in reality not everybody does. There are still homeless people out there, there are people that don’t have a lot of money and they’re just scraping by with what they have. That’s life and there will always be people like that.
I think Mathilde is very greedy and in my opinion she puts it upon herself. She isn’t rich but she isn’t poor, she is right in the middle but she’s not happy with what she has and she should be. She might want to live the “American Dream“ because she is surrounded by people who are living it. For most of the story she is greedy, until she loses the diamond necklace and has to replace it with a new one. She spent 10 years paying off the debt she was in from buying a new diamond necklace because she didn’t cheat, scam or steal. She bought the necklace fair and square and she paid it off all by herself as well. When she saw Madame Forester at the park and found out that the necklace that she had lost was fake diamonds I think Mathlide would have been heartbroken but still walk away with her head held high to show no sign of sadness. After that I don’t think she would have very good sleeps from that day on. I do understand why Mathilde did what she did but in the end, Madame Forester benefitted from all of Mathilde’s hard work.
When I was 5 my family and I went to Hawaii. I have the best memories in Hawaii and to be honest, I cant remember a whole lot from when I was 5! The picture to the left is of me after I made my first Hawaiian lei! The photo to the bottom is of my sister and I on Annini Beach, Kawaii. I loved Hawaii so much that I even wrote my grade one speech on my vacation!
